My great grandparents homesteaded in Jackson Hole in 1911. My grandfather Walter (pictured with his dog Sam and horse Tuffy) later formed our family's existing cattle ranch when he purchased additional land in the 1940's. The property is surrounded by the National Forest and the National Park' and the rich mountain soil produces exceptional pastures for grazing.
As a family, we grew up eating beef that had been raised naturally - grass fed on the open range. Over time most of Jackson's ranchers left the valley, as property prices escalated and gave way to development. My family's love of Jackson Hole and our western heritage led us to look for ways to sustain our open space as one of the few remaining cattle ranches in Teton County.
As the US beef industry became more and more commercial (large feedlots finishing cattle on hot corn diets) we looked for ways to maintain the traditional methods of raising cattle. We believe strongly in avoiding the growth hormones and antibiotics necessary to sustain cattle on a corn diet. There is a better way - for the health of the consumer, for the cattle, and for maintaining what little is left of Jackson's ranching legacy.
When you buy Teton Cattle Company beef you know where it is coming from and that you are getting the highest quality meats available. Sustainable, Healthy, and Flavorful. That's what our beef is all about.
Our ranch continues to be family owned and operated, and we want to keep it that way. We truly appreciate your support and welcome any feedback.
